This is a chronological list of all the nicknames Fai uses regarding Kurogane in the manga only. I did include their most recent appearance in XXXholic special chapter. I indicated which chapter the name was used, the page# (this is not going to be accurate for all translations or the English releases, but it will get you in the right area), if Kurogane protested or not (I included the ones Fai used out of his presence), and if he protested what he said.
Note: After reading the official English releases there are some nicknames that are not included from those releases, but I chalked them up to being thrown in during the westernization of the version and to downplay any possible "subtext". I could be wrong about that, but that was my thought when seeing them and not finding them in any fan translations and when they were used.
Excluding the times, Kurogane was not present to hear and the ones that were not clear as to whether they should be counted as nicknames, there are 104 instances where Fai uses a nickname. Of those 104 Kurogane protested 21 times. Meaning only 20% of the time did he get upset. I thought it would be higher, but after the first 6 Kurogane didn't consistently get upset unless it was when he was called Father, Daddy, or a derivative of doggie.
Kurogane for the most part only got upset when Fai introduced him using a nickname (no one else is allowed to call him by a nickname). I would like to point out the last time Kurogane gets upset over one of Fai's nicknames is chapter 111 at the beginning of the Tokyo Arc. He doesn't even protest being called Daddy after that.
